Creator Profile & Editorial Policy
This policy explains how CreatorsProfiles creates, reviews, updates and presents public creator profiles. It also describes the standards we use for sources, verification, corrections, disputed information and editorial moderation.
Our goal is to make creator profiles useful, structured and trustworthy without turning CreatorsProfiles into a popularity ranking or a social network.
1. What a creator profile is
A CreatorsProfiles page is a structured public profile about a creator, creator-led brand, channel, team or other eligible creator identity.
A profile may include creator identity, biography, Topic / Niche, Known For, Content Function, Content Format, public location, languages, profession, education, awards, official social accounts, follower information, featured content, business or collaboration details, sources and verification status.
Not every profile will contain every field. We prefer an incomplete but supportable profile over one filled with guesses.
2. How profiles may be created
A creator profile may be created by the creator, an authorised representative, the CreatorsProfiles editorial team, or from reliable publicly available information.
CreatorsProfiles may create a public profile before a creator claims it where enough reliable public information exists to identify the creator responsibly.
3. Source standards
Important factual information should be supported by sources appropriate to the claim.
Preferred primary sources
Official creator websites, verified or clearly official social accounts, official channel descriptions, creator-published biographies, direct public statements and authoritative organisation pages.
Strong secondary sources
Established news organisations, reputable magazines, recognised industry publications, public institutions, event organisers and professionally edited interviews.
Sources we treat cautiously
Anonymous posts, unverified fan pages, scraped biography sites, copied content farms, unsupported social-media claims and unattributed database entries should not normally support important biographical claims.
Where reliable sources disagree, CreatorsProfiles may omit the information, describe the uncertainty, request clarification or use the stronger source rather than present a disputed claim as certain.
4. Facts and editorial judgement
We aim to distinguish factual information from editorial organisation. Official accounts, published awards and documented qualifications are factual claims. Topic, Content Function and Content Format are structured editorial classifications used to make creator identity and discovery easier to understand.
Editorial classifications should describe a creator's public body of work and should not be used as moral, political or personal judgements.
5. Topic, function and format
- Topic / Niche: what the creator mainly creates about, such as Travel, Technology, Food, Comedy, Politics, Finance or Beauty.
- Content Function: what the content does, such as Educates, Reviews, Recommends, Demonstrates, Entertains or Tells Stories.
- Content Format: how content is delivered, such as Short-form Video, Long-form Video, Photography, Livestream, Podcast or Articles.
These are relevance signals. A creator is not considered better because they educate rather than entertain, or because they publish one format rather than another.
6. Official social accounts
We aim to link only accounts reasonably believed to belong to the creator or creator entity represented by the profile. Signals may include an official website, cross-links between known accounts, account verification, consistent branding, direct creator confirmation or successful CreatorsProfiles verification.
If ownership is uncertain, we may omit the link until it can be confirmed.
7. Follower and subscriber information
Follower and subscriber numbers change frequently. CreatorsProfiles may display approximate figures such as “125K+” together with an updated date where available.
Follower count is context, not a universal measure of creator quality, credibility or relevance.
8. Location and personal information
CreatorsProfiles generally uses public creator-relevant location information such as country, state/region or city/locality where publicly associated with the creator.
We do not intend profiles to expose private residential addresses, precise private locations, private phone numbers, private email addresses or similar information that creates unnecessary privacy or safety risks.
9. Sensitive and private information
CreatorsProfiles is not intended to become a repository for intrusive personal details. We generally avoid publishing unnecessary sensitive or highly private information simply because it appears somewhere online.
Public relevance does not automatically justify publication.
10. Profiles involving minors
Profiles involving creators under the applicable age of majority require additional care. We aim to avoid unnecessary personal information that could create safety risks, including private contact details or precise residential information.
Where appropriate, a parent, guardian or authorised representative may be asked to assist with account management, claims or verification.
11. Claims and editorial independence
Claiming a profile allows an eligible creator or representative to establish management access. It does not convert a public profile into unrestricted self-publishing.
Creator-submitted changes may be reviewed before publication. CreatorsProfiles may decline or modify submissions that are misleading, unsupported, unsafe, infringing or inconsistent with this policy.
Verified creator ≠ exemption from editorial review.
12. Verification and what it means
Verification indicates that a specific identity or control check has been completed. Statuses may include Claimed, Email Verified, Social Verified or Identity Verified.
Verification does not mean CreatorsProfiles endorses the creator's opinions, products, services, qualifications or conduct. Editorial approval and identity verification are separate concepts.
13. Promotional and self-submitted claims
Creators may describe their work and achievements, but promotional language should not be presented as independent fact without support.
Claims such as “the world's best”, “number one”, “leading expert” or similar superlatives may be removed, softened or attributed unless supported by a reliable and relevant source.
14. Products, affiliate links and featured content
Creators may submit products, gear, featured content or commercial links. These submissions may be moderated before publication.
Affiliate links should be identified appropriately. The presence of a product or link does not necessarily mean CreatorsProfiles independently endorses or has tested it.
15. Corrections and updates
We welcome good-faith correction requests. A creator does not necessarily need to claim a profile simply to report an error.
Depending on the issue, we may correct information, update outdated material, add clarification, replace a weak source, remove inappropriate information or decline a request when reliable evidence supports the existing information.
16. Disputed information
When a creator disputes information supported by independent sources, CreatorsProfiles will review the available evidence rather than automatically accepting either side.
Ownership of a claimed profile does not create a right to rewrite independently sourced public facts simply because they are inconvenient.
17. Removal requests
CreatorsProfiles will consider requests to remove particular information or review an entire profile. Factors may include privacy, safety, sensitivity, source quality, public creator activity, legal rights and the legitimate purpose of the profile.
Where a narrower correction or removal adequately addresses the issue, we may prefer that over deleting an entire profile.
18. Suspicious, misleading or abusive profiles
Profiles, claims or submissions may be flagged for review where we detect possible impersonation, suspicious URLs, misleading identity claims, repeated policy violations, spam or other risks.
CreatorsProfiles may limit visibility, suspend editing, reject submissions, remove verification or take other reasonable steps while an issue is reviewed.
19. Discovery and ranking
CreatorsProfiles may rank creator profiles differently depending on the user's context. Signals may include Topic / Niche, Content Function, Content Format, location, language, profile completeness, verification, freshness and collaboration relevance.
Direct creator-name search is intended to prioritise identity relevance rather than local preference.
A higher discovery position should not be interpreted as an editorial declaration that one creator is objectively superior to another.
20. AI-assisted editorial work
CreatorsProfiles may use software or AI-assisted tools to help organise, summarise, classify or review information.
AI-generated or automated output should not be treated as a source by itself. Material factual claims should still be grounded in appropriate public sources or creator-provided information.
Automation does not remove the need for editorial review where identity, accuracy, privacy, verification or disputes are involved.
21. Independence from third-party platforms
CreatorsProfiles is an independent platform. Unless expressly stated otherwise, it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by YouTube, Google, Instagram, Meta, TikTok, X or other third-party services referenced on creator profiles.
Third-party names, trademarks and logos remain the property of their respective owners.
22. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as CreatorsProfiles develops, profile fields change, verification processes evolve, or we learn from real-world moderation and correction requests.
Material changes may be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date.
