Claim & Verification Policy
This policy explains how creator profile claims and verification work on CreatorsProfiles, who may request control of a profile, what evidence may be required, what each verification status means, and how disputes or suspicious claims are handled.
Claiming a profile establishes management authority. Verification establishes a level of confidence in identity or control. Neither automatically means CreatorsProfiles endorses the creator, their content or their claims.
1. Why claims and verification exist
CreatorsProfiles may publish creator profiles before they are claimed. Claim and verification processes help us distinguish legitimate creator control from impersonation, unauthorised management and misleading identity claims.
These processes are designed to protect creators, audiences, businesses and the integrity of the platform.
2. Who may claim a creator profile
A claim may be submitted by:
- the creator represented by the profile;
- an authorised manager, agent or representative;
- an authorised representative of a creator-led company, team, channel or brand;
- another person who can provide sufficient evidence of authority to manage the profile.
CreatorsProfiles may request evidence of authority where the person submitting the claim is not the creator directly.
3. Claiming a profile does not mean verification is complete
A profile may be marked as Claimed once CreatorsProfiles is satisfied that an eligible account is connected to the profile or a claim has otherwise been approved.
Claim status and verification status are therefore shown separately where appropriate.
4. Verification levels
CreatorsProfiles may use different verification levels depending on the method completed.
Verification levels may evolve as CreatorsProfiles introduces additional verification methods or providers.
5. Email verification
Email verification may confirm control of an email address associated with a creator, management team, official domain or approved claim process.
CreatorsProfiles may reject or require additional evidence where the email address is generic, disposable, inconsistent with the creator identity, or otherwise insufficient to establish trust.
6. Social verification
Social verification is intended to establish that the claimant controls at least one official online property associated with the creator.
A common verification method may involve placing a temporary CreatorsProfiles verification link or code in an official social-media bio, channel description or official website.
Once we can confirm the required signal on an official account, the profile may receive Social Verified status.
One successfully verified official account may be sufficient for Social Verified status, although CreatorsProfiles may request additional evidence where identity is unclear or disputed.
7. Identity verification
Identity Verified is a stronger verification level intended for cases where CreatorsProfiles uses an identity-check process beyond email or social-account control.
If identity documents or other sensitive information are ever required, the verification flow should clearly explain what is collected, why it is needed, how it is protected, how long it is retained and whether a third-party verification provider is involved.
Identity verification should not require more sensitive information than reasonably necessary.
8. Managers, agents and representatives
A creator may authorise another person to manage a profile.
CreatorsProfiles may ask a manager, agent or representative to demonstrate authority through evidence such as:
- an official creator email;
- confirmation from an official social account or website;
- a business or management-domain email;
- written confirmation from the creator;
- other evidence reasonably sufficient to establish authority.
Manager access does not automatically transfer creator identity ownership to the manager.
9. One profile should have one recognised ownership relationship
CreatorsProfiles aims to prevent multiple unrelated users from controlling the same creator profile.
Where a profile is already claimed, a later claim may be rejected, held for review or treated as an ownership dispute unless the existing owner authorises the change.
CreatorsProfiles may support additional authorised managers or editors in the future, but the underlying creator ownership relationship should remain clear.
10. Self-created profiles
A creator may create a new profile where no appropriate profile already exists.
Creating a profile does not automatically create full verified ownership. A new profile may first be treated as provisionally associated with the submitting account, then reviewed for quality and duplication, and later verified through an official account or other approved method.
A profile can pass editorial review while still requiring ownership or identity verification.
11. Duplicate profiles
CreatorsProfiles may reject or merge claims where multiple profiles appear to represent the same creator or creator entity.
Claimants should not create a second profile merely because an existing profile is unclaimed or contains information they want to change.
Where a duplicate exists, the appropriate process is normally to claim or correct the existing profile.
12. False or misleading claims
You must not claim a profile that you do not have authority to manage.
CreatorsProfiles may reject, suspend or permanently restrict claims involving:
- impersonation;
- false identity information;
- forged or manipulated evidence;
- misleading email addresses or domains;
- unauthorised management claims;
- attempts to take control of another creator's profile;
- repeated abuse of verification systems.
Serious or repeated abuse may also result in account suspension or other platform restrictions.
13. Ownership disputes
If two or more people claim authority over the same profile, CreatorsProfiles may temporarily freeze profile-management changes while the dispute is reviewed.
We may ask each party for evidence of identity, creator authority, management relationship or control of official accounts.
We may also rely on public evidence such as an official website, verified social accounts, management listings or direct creator confirmation.
CreatorsProfiles may decline to resolve complex private contractual disputes and may ask the parties to resolve those issues independently before profile control is changed.
14. Verification after official account changes
If a verified creator changes or removes an official social account, website or other verification signal, CreatorsProfiles may review the affected verification status.
A material change to a verified official URL may cause platform-specific verification to be reset until the new account or URL is confirmed.
This helps prevent a previously verified profile from remaining verified after control of its linked identity has materially changed.
15. Verification can be reviewed or revoked
Verification is not necessarily permanent.
CreatorsProfiles may review, suspend or remove a verification status if:
- verification evidence is no longer valid;
- an official account has changed ownership;
- the original verification was obtained through false information;
- the creator or representative can no longer demonstrate authority;
- we identify impersonation, fraud or a significant security concern;
- a profile has been transferred or merged in a way that requires re-verification.
16. Verification is not endorsement
A verification badge or status confirms a verification step. It does not mean CreatorsProfiles endorses:
- the creator's opinions or political views;
- the accuracy of every statement the creator makes;
- the creator's products or services;
- professional claims that have not been independently established;
- the creator's behaviour on or off the platform.
17. Verification does not remove moderation
Verified creators remain subject to CreatorsProfiles' editorial, moderation and safety standards.
Creator-submitted biography changes, products, affiliate links, featured content, official-account changes or other sensitive edits may still be reviewed before publication.
18. Claiming a profile does not erase independent information
Claiming a profile gives an authorised user a role in managing and updating the profile. It does not automatically convert the page into a creator-controlled advertisement.
CreatorsProfiles may retain independently sourced public information where it is accurate, relevant, appropriately sourced and consistent with our Creator Profile & Editorial Policy.
A creator may request correction or review of disputed information through the appropriate process.
19. Claim or verification requests may require manual review
Some claims can be verified automatically, but others may require manual review.
Manual review may be appropriate where:
- the profile has high impersonation risk;
- the claimant is a representative rather than the creator;
- social-account ownership is unclear;
- multiple parties claim control;
- verification links cannot be confirmed automatically;
- the profile is marked suspicious;
- other evidence conflicts.
20. Privacy of verification information
Information used privately to verify an account should not be published simply because a profile receives a verification status.
CreatorsProfiles may retain verification records, timestamps, methods and related audit information where reasonably necessary for security, dispute resolution and platform integrity.
Verification data is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
21. Appeals and corrections
If a claim or verification request is rejected, you may contact CreatorsProfiles where you believe the decision was based on incomplete or incorrect information.
We may ask for additional evidence before reconsidering a decision.
Repeated submissions without new evidence may be restricted where they create abuse or unnecessary review burden.
22. Changes to this policy
CreatorsProfiles may update this Claim & Verification Policy as verification methods, security controls, creator-management features or third-party verification providers change.
Material updates may be reflected by changing the “Last updated” date.
